Spellbook Equipment
Your spellbook must be equipped in a belt slot to scribe or memorize spells, but is not required to cast them. It will drop on death.
Player Death
Death is meaningful in MnM. Your items stay on your corpse and you respawn at your bind point. Recover your corpse before it expires.
On Death
Your items stay on your corpse. You respawn at your bind point. Note environmental features to find your corpse.
Bind Point
Your respawn location. Can be changed via spells and other mechanisms.

/consent
Allows a player to drag your corpse. Use /deny <name> or /deny group to rescind consent.
Character States
States represent your character's current condition and affect various aspects of gameplay.
Hungry / Thirsty
Out of food or drink. Health and mana recovery rates are drastically reduced.
Encumbered
Carrying too much weight. Movement speed reduced; cannot gate or teleport.
Rested
Near a campfire or inside an inn. Accumulate rest for a 15% bonus to experience gained.

Sheltered
Inside or under shelter. Can accumulate rest from a campfire or inn even during poor weather.
Warmth of the Campfire

A full in-game day takes 72 real-world minutes. Dangerous creatures emerge at night — always carry a light source.
Day Length
A full in-game day takes 72 real-world minutes.
Darkness
When it's dark, it's dark. Dangerous creatures emerge at night. Always carry a light source when venturing outside cities.
Candle
All new adventurers start with a simple candle. Right-click to light it. Burns out over time — seek a better light source.
Torch
The cheapest reliable light source. Can be crafted with the Survival tradeskill.
Lantern
A superior light source that attaches to your belt slot, freeing your offhand. Refuel it when the light fades.
Infravision
Some races can select the Infravision trait, which helps at night — though a light source is still recommended.
Campfire at Night
Setting up a campfire with companions marks your spot, beats the darkness, and grants the Rested XP bonus.
Self-Imposed Rulesets
Three optional rulesets can be selected at level 1 for an extra challenge. They can be combined and are displayed in /who results.
Hardcore (HC)
If your character dies, it is permanently deleted.
Solo (S)
Your character cannot group with other players or grant/receive buffs to/from other players.
Self-Found (SF)
Your character cannot trade or acquire items from other players (dropped, sold to vendors, etc.).
Combining Rulesets
All three can be combined. A full HC S SF character displays as [1 Rogue HC S SF] in /who results.
Coin & Economy
Coin has weight in MnM. Sell to appropriate merchants for the best prices — merchants buy items similar to what they sell.
Coin Types
Copper, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Higher denominations weigh less per unit of value.
Coin Weight
135 Copper = 1 weight unit. 100 Silver = 1 weight unit. Gold and Platinum weights are higher per coin.
Selling Items
Most merchants only buy items similar to what they sell. A butcher buys meat; a tailor buys tailoring supplies. Seek out the right merchant for the best price.
Greedy Merchants
Some shady individuals will buy almost anything, but at lower prices. Useful for clearing inventory quickly.
Merchant Inventory
Everything players sell to a merchant becomes part of their inventory. Check merchants regularly — someone else's trash may be your treasure.
Macros
Create custom hotbar buttons for any slash command. Macros can trigger multiple commands at once and support %t (target name) and %me (your name) in chat commands.
Creating a Macro
Type /macro or click Macros from the Commands list. Choose a character-specific or Global (account-wide) tab, then click an empty square.
Macro Commands
Enter slash commands in the Macro field. Additional commands go on new lines. Multiple commands execute in sequence.
%t and %me
In chat-type commands (/say, /g, etc.), use %t to insert the target's name and %me to insert your own name.
Adding to Hotbar
Hold left-click on your macro icon to place it on your cursor, then click a hotbar space to add it.
Earthquake (Simulated Respawn)
A server-wide event that occurs randomly, signified by 'THE GROUND TREMBLES VIOLENTLY...' Believed to trigger a respawn of all worldwide raid mobs.
Earthquake Event
A random server-wide event. Announced by the large text 'THE GROUND TREMBLES VIOLENTLY...' followed by a chat message.
